CHAPTER 1: THE ABYSS
BROTHER (2025 Release)
Music: Dolce Wang
An improvised instrumental piece driven by haunting cello live-looping, conveying the search for my long-lost brother.
SPACE SONG
Music / Lyrics: Beach House
Rearranged by: Dolce
Space Song is a reflection and satire of one's naivety for believing in an idealized relationship. While the rearrangement departs drastically in instrumentation and structure from the original song, it still features the hypnotic drone via cello live loops, arps, synths, and old school drum machine, paying homage to Beach House's mastery of allowing us to gaze both at our shoes and at the stars.
LUCID
Music / Lyrics: Dolce Wang
Sometimes life serves you experiences that hit you so hard, you may not even feel like they are real, almost like a dream - or a nightmare. Lucid is often mistaken for a break-up song, but is in fact a comeback song towards a scam artist. Beyond that, it is about the process of reclaiming control over demons of the past, and transforming them into something beautiful.
TIME ONCE AGAIN (2025 Release)
Music / Lyrics: Dolce Wang
This song is an attempt to freeze time. Its stanzas are sung as a round, with vocal sections stacked upon each other, mirroring the movement of hands around a clock. Ultimately, it reaches a resolution: the real struggle lies not in running out of time, but in facing the loss of a loved one to find healing.
ANY OTHER WAY (2025 Release)
Music / Lyrics: Dolce Wang
Any Other Way encapsulates the wistful yearning for a relationship that remains just out of reach. Reflected in the incessant repetition of the lyrics "any other way," backed by the call and response of the melody in the instrumentation, and delicately piled on top of the unresolved chords, then finally bursting into a screaming solo, the song explores the tortured hope that love inspires.
CHAPTER 2: THE JOURNEY
PARADISE LOST
Music / Lyrics: Belle Logie
Paradise Lost was composed in the wake of reading the true crime novel In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. The song focuses specifically on the massacre of the Clutter family, but more broadly depicts the collective story of human history; rise and fall, life and death, and sacred places that have been lost and found.
烏蘭巴托的夜 WU LAN BA TUO DE YE
Music: G. Pürevdorj / Lyrics: Poet P. Sanduyjav
Rearranged by: Dolce Wang
A traditional Mongolian Folk Song expressing the long-lost beauty under the vast night of Wu Lan Ba Tuo (Ulaanbaatar) where lovers meet, heroes cry, and where one gets drunk by disappearing into the peace of the coldest desert on earth. The place has now become urbanized, the capital of Outer Mongolia at an elevation of 4300 ft. The song is not well-known outside of Mongolia, but has been covered by many locals. Dolce's rearrangement is sung in both Mandarin as well as Mongolian.
TRAIN SONG
Music / Lyrics: Vashti Bunyan, Alasdair Clayre, Jenny Lewis
Rearranged by: Dolce Wang
Covering the 1966 folk-pop number, the song takes you on a journey to board a northbound train to reunite with a faraway lover.
ON THE INSIDE
Music / Lyrics: Dolce Wang
On The Inside is inspired by and dedicated to all the bad-ass grannies and gramps out there, fusing musical influences from James Bond 007 soundtracks and 60’s rock with a modern twist. It's an anthem that celebrates who you are on the inside, no matter how old you are. Even with its intensity and minor key, this is ironically the happiest song I've written so far.
CHAPTER 3: THE DISTURBANCE
DUMKA
Music / Lyrics: Dolce Wang [Bonsai Boulevard]
A song written about a manager I hated.
CONSTANTLY
Music / Lyrics: Dolce Wang
Constantly is inspired by a particular loved one who suffers from severe mental illness. The lyrics are written as if from her perspective, intentionally amplified by the complex chord structure, shifting time signatures, and mashup of musical styles. Vacillating between reality and illusion, music is the only constant that keeps her whole.
CHAPTER 4: THE ENLIGHTENMENT
INDREAMS
Music / Lyrics: Nick Logie
I wrote In Dreams in the sweet twilight era of youth transitioning to adulthood, when I felt unsure about the future I was comforted by the freedom of dreaming. Dreams are the twinkling lights in the dark void of sleep, and this song is a small ode to them.
BEGIN
Music / Lyrics: Dolce Wang
Written during a midnight walk in the misty forest, "Begin" takes you through the process of gaining clarity even within the fog.
SPACE ODDITY
Music / Lyrics: David Bowie
Rearranged by: Dolce Wang
Originally released in 1969, the year that Americans first landed on the moon, Space Oddity is a tale about a fictional astronaut named Major Tom. Its title and subject matter were partly inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and Bowie's feelings of alienation at that point in his career, but then became a breakthrough song, launching him into stardom.
ACROSS THE UNIVERSE
Music / Lyrics: John Lennon [The Beatles]
Rearranged by: Dolce Wang
Lennon wrote this song after having an argument with his wife Cynthia. "I went downstairs and it turned into sort of a cosmic song rather than an irritated song." The Sanskrit refrain, "jai guru deva (जय गुरुदेव)" can be translated to "glory to the shining remover of darkness," ending in "om (ॐ)" the natural vibration of the universe. The rearrangement is musically inspired by Fiona Apple's cover.
CHAPTER 5: THE CELEBRATION
BE ALIVE (2025 Release)
Music: Dolce Wang
Lyrics: Dolce Wang, James Martinez
Be Alive was written in 2014, during a night spent in a mountain cave in the Pacific Palisades. As I watched a line of planes descend into LAX, like stars slowly landing, I thought, "300 more little dreams touching down." The song captures the pursuit of a dream, the tension, the moments of getting lost, and serves as a reminder to everyone in LA that, amidst all the distractions, the goal is simple: to be alive. The lyrics were written in collaboration with local LA poet James Martinez. It only made sense to close the evening with this song, celebrating my return to the City of Angels.

ROCKET MAN
Music / Lyrics: Elton John, Bernie Taupin
Rearranged by: Dolce Wang
I was working on a NASA project as I created this setlist, so it seems that the space theme incepted my brain. For me, space and dreams are intertwined. One of my long-held dreams has been to sing with the entire Logie family, so I rearranged this song with that in mind, while also choosing a few familiar tunes that everyone could enjoy. Thank you all who called out for an encore and giving us the chance to share this moment together! This song was originally released in 1972 on Elton John’s Honky Château album.
